This boy sure loves his ice cream cone

We went to youngs dairy with some friends this past weekend and got some of their delicious ice cream and feed the animals. Zion, as you can see really got into eating his ice cream cone lol. Elijah tried some too and really liked it.

Another project

This project completes the daycare baby room remodel.


Forgot to take a before picture but this is one from last week. The stage is by the white door and the green half wall.

John had to build a frame that fit under the closet so it wouldn't fall down or crash through if someone stood on it.



Still a little tweaking left to do but the stuff that we had to get done got done AND cleaned up.

I actually got to stain this door. It was pretty fun. There was a solid white door that opened into the room. We were afraid the babies would be in front of the door and you wouldn't be able to see them. Problem fixed. It turned out great.

John and I's weekend project.

We needed to divide the infant room at the daycare. It didn't have any real direction before we remodeled. We are enrolling kids like crazy and needed to make another space for toddlers instead of babies. Eventually the toddlers will go where the toys are now and the babies will go where the tables are. The tables will then go where the stage is once we tar it out next weekend. Enjoy:)

John worked about 20 hours on this project while also doing his other job that is 4-6 hours in the middle of the night. Poor guy.

Helper man

We have decided to have a garden this year. The only place to have it is the back yard so John and Gene put up a simple fence to keep the dogs out. Ever since he's been little Gene has been daddy's little helper. So today he spent about 2 hours outside in the misty rain helping John put the fence up. He had a blast. Hopefully he will be this helpful with the garden.

We went the other evening and finally got pictures taken of the boys. At first I was ready to give up because Zion and Elijah didn't want anything to do with the camera. Gene was of course the perfect one the whole time like always:). Well after jumping up and down with a ball and a whoopy cushion I finally cheered everyone up. I was really tired afterwards though. Lol. But well worth it.












Gene always tries so hard to smile, this was the best one of him smiling and then we have his serious one below.












This is such a Zion face too. He is so cute when he smiles.











He wouldn't turn his head straight but I think it turned out to be a Zion look after all.






This is just about the look Elijah has on his face 95% of the time. He loves to stare at you and most people can't get him to smile.





But mommy, Gene and Zion can. This is right after he had been crying but he stopped and thought something was funny. Oh yeah Gene was hitting me with the balloon:).


I am very thankful to have such fun kids. They defiantly keep me on my feet.

I think I'm going crazy

Last week I went in a coupon shopping spree. Saved about 70% on everything here. It sure was fun carrying all that into the house. I'm excited to start feeding my family for less, while building my food storage :)

We rented a bounce house for birthdays again this year. It's always really fun and the kids love it. Here are some highlight pictures.

A Tribute to Bart

We had to put Bart our Great Dane down today. We have had him almost 8 years. We rescued him from a Great Dane rescue here in Ohio. He had recently gone through surgery to dock his tale and to remove on of his toes. He was a VERY energetic dog prior to surgery and even after the surgery we had to give him tranquillizers to keep him tired so that he would stop ripping his stitches out. He was doing fine just a month after surgery but then it started to get cold outside and we think that was the straw that broke the camels back. He started to urinate and poop on his bed every time we would go out to let him outside. He was very wobbly on his back legs and sometimes couldn't get up. We didn't want to put him down but it wasn't right to let him sit in his own excrements. He was a fun dog, if not a little annoying at times, but we will miss him. Enjoy the pictures some will make you laugh.
